I am the yawning grave that beckons
With a smile which belies a true intent
I am the false beacon that guides
With a light that blinds and disorients
In palest figment of death defied:
Between the jump and pull of rope you might well try to fly
In palest figment of death defied:
Between the jump and pull of rope you might well try to fly
Played, akin
To Nero’s violin
While the world around you turned to dust and ruin
Like the rats
And children
Lead from Hamelin dashed upon the cliffs or drowned therein
In palest figment of death defied:
Between the jump and pull of rope you might well try to fly
In palest figment of death defied:
Between the jump and pull of rope you might well try to fly
I cut my tether
Was cast adrift
And perception changes further strayed like doppler shift
In gallows fashion:
The dragropes tied
Laid before me; drastic how perspective shifts through noose’s eye
“Mine dead eyes see not your tears flow
Deaf ears hear neither curse no praise bestowed
I wear not the face known heretofore
Great death has made all his forevermore”

Ἡ εἰκών was an impressive debut, but way too short! Luckily, Ψευδομένη arrives to satisfy the urge for more of what made its precedessor hit hard and fast: some atmospheric moments (don't be deterred as this is still brutal, dissonant and disgusting to the core) and at the same time, J.L. is exploring longer tracks - e.g. my personal favourite - and implementing some cavernous lows. If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's most likely that this man refuses to stand still. What a pace! David Fischer

Heaviest thing I’ve heard all year along with Altarage. Okay I’ve been listening to this record for the past two weeks and it just gets better and better. Dissonant grooves galore Jacob Ballance
